February 4, 1964 – January 13, 2023
It is with deep sorrow that we announce that Rob passed away at his home in Edmonton at the age of 58.
Rob was born in Zweibrucken, Germany to Robert (Bob) and Shirlee Thorne as they were stationed at RCAF 3Wing. Rob was the eldest of 4 siblings. After the family settled in Innisfail, AB he lived there until moving to Edmonton after high school. He attended NAIT and began his career with DynaLIFE, doing remote blood collections. One of his biggest passions was American Football and his love of cooking made for great Superbowl parties.
Rob will be lovingly remembered by his parents Bob & Shirlee, siblings Brenda (Wolfgang) Janssen, Heather (Dale) McBride, and Mike. He will be greatly missed by many other people, especially his best friend Allan Purves.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to charity of choice.
A celebration of life with family and friends to be held at a later date.
