1938 – 2024
Mrs. Rona Diane Walden (nee Thompson) passed away peacefully on November 28, 2024 at the age of 86, with her daughters by her side.
Annie, as she was fondly called by her family, was predeceased by her husband and love of her life, Robert (Poppa) in 2017, her eldest son Craig, in 1971, and her great grandson Lane Robert, in 2023.
She is survived by her children, Margo (Dana) Hergenhein, CynDee Walden (Grant Hindbo), Scott Walden (Andie Aichholz); grandchildren Maranda (Lance), Kailee (Preston), Jacob (Jasmine), Sophie; and great grandchildren Abby, Avery, Owen, Harper, Lily and Jett.
Annie was a spitfire with a wonderful sense of humour and always had a joke to tell. She loved her family and held a very special place in her heart for her grandkids and great grandkids. Sadly, dementia took the Annie we knew away from us and in 2017, she moved to the Sundre Seniors Supportive Living facility until her death.
The family would like to send a very special thank you to mom’s sister-in-law and our Aunt, B.J. MacClean, for all of her love, caring and compassion for mom over the last seven years. In lieu of flowers or donations and in mom’s honour, please take the time to visit your elderly family members or neighbours, or go visit your nearby seniors lodge -you will make a difference in someone’s day.
