1946 - 2022
On Wednesday, April 20, 2022, DeAnna Waters of Innisfail passed away at the age of 75.
She is survived by her son Jayson Gordy (Carol Brown) of Edmonton; sisters Gloria Waters of Calgary and Llynn (Mike) Roberts of Coalhurst, Alberta. Also surviving are two grandchildren Theodore and Paige.
She was predeceased by her husband William.
DeAnna was born in Carragana, Saskatchewan in 1946. DeAnna fell in love with her husband while dancing and they initially resided in Grand Centre before moving to Edmonton in 1985. She had a career as a country and western singer and enjoyed touring Europe and Australia with Hank Smith and Wild Rose Country before getting her diploma in Social Work in 1989.
In 2007 she got her wish to move to a small town and relocated to Innisfail. She worked as a social worker until she retired. She will always be remembered for her ever-present smile, small stature, big laugh and her love of life. She was loved deeply by friends and family.
