1935 – 2024
Mr. Frederick ‘Fred’ Wiebe of Innisfail, Alberta passed away at the Rosefield Centre, Innisfail, Alberta, with his loving wife by his side, on Sunday, December 22, 2024 at the age of 89 years.
Fred was born in Carrot River, Saskatchewan to Fritz Wiebe and Bertha Wiebe (nee Striemer) on October 12, 1935. The family moved from Carrot River to Barnwell, Alberta.
At a young age, Fred started his own company “Wiebe Holding Excavating”. Twenty years later Fred moved to Hardisty, Alberta and started to work on his dream, ranching. In 2000, Fred retired and it was then he met Jocelyne while on his trip in Cuba. The two were married in 2001 and together they moved to Innisfail. They began travelling and went to Europe and all the tropical islands, including many times to Cuba. Fred enjoyed playing the harmonica and singing with his guitar at the Innisfail Seniors Drop-In Centre.
Fred will be lovingly remembered by his loving and proud wife, Jocelyne, his children, grandchildren, and his brother, Bob from British Columbia.
He was predeceased by his sisters, Myrna Letz and Grace Dick, his brothers, Orlando and Carl, and his first wife, Anne.
Jocelyne would like to thank with all her heart the great people who work at the Dementia wing in the Rosefield Centre. They are very special people who cared for Fred until the very end, she is glad to know them and to have had them with her during Fred’s time there.
A Celebration of Fred’s Life will be held on Friday, January 10, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Beverly Cove, 4500 – 45 Avenue, Innisfail, Alberta. If desired, Memorial Donations in Fred’s honor may be made to the Rosefield Centre at 5023 - 42 Street, Innisfail, Alberta, T4G 1A9.
