1932 - 2025

Patricia Mary Ella Willberg passed away on January 6, 2025, to be with her Lord and Savior, and to join all her dearly loved family who proceeded her.  Born in 1932 to Robert and Ella Toole in Calgary, Patricia was raised on the family farm at the very northeast corner of Rocky View County.  Patricia was the sixth of nine children, Robert, Beatrice, Joyce, Elgin, Lawrence, Patricia, Mayland, Neville and Grace.

To mourn her passing and celebrate her life Patricia leaves two sons, Wayne (Angela) and Dean (Laurie); grandchildren Alyssa (Dallas), Connor, Owen and Frances (Collin); great-grandchildren Willa and Isla; her brother Neville and many nieces and nephews.

Patricia’s heart broke last May when she lost Carl, her husband of over 60 years.  Although differing in temperaments – Carl an extrovert and Pat quite private – they were remarkable at making decisions together, working side-by-side, having fun, and bringing out each other’s best.  Mom and Dad’s deep commitment, care and respect for each other was, and always will be, an inspiration to our family.

Patricia lived a full and active life, and no grass grew under her feet.  As a young teacher she rode a Harley-Davidson to and from remote one-room country schools – stories of which are a source of great pride for her sons.  She taught for many years, first at one-room schools, later in Lethbridge and Pincher Creek.  Pat and Carl built three beautiful homes together.  She walked 3-plus miles a day – fast – for years, and she loved picking berries, family picnics, and snow birding in the desert with Carl.  Pat was happiest in her garden, baking, entertaining family and friends, and making breakfast for her grandchildren.

As per Patricia’s wishes a private gravesite service will be held for family and close friends.  In lieu of flowers please consider a gift to a children’s charity of your choice, and treat yourself to ice cream, pie, or both.
