Donald William Wilson was born on September 22, 1938 (84yrs) in Chevrie, Nova Scotia to William and Phyllis Wilson. Don was the oldest of 3 children.
On November 22, 1961, Don married the love of his life Shirley Ann Beckwith and on that same day they purchased their family farm.
In 1977 Don and Shirley along with their 3 children packed up and headed west, they settled in Wainwright Alberta until 1984 making one last move to Olds Alberta which was home until his passing.
When Don wasn’t working as a Heavy Duty Mechanic he could be seen playing or singing Olde Tyme Music, camping or fishing.
Don passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Wednesday January 18, 2023
He is survived by his wife Shirley of 61 years, 2 sisters Carolyn MacAulay of Truro Nova Scotia, Betty (Les)Beazley of Windsor Nova Scotia, a daughter Deborah Poynter of Bowden Alberta, 2 sons Derrick (Caroline) Wilson of Hanna Alberta, Stephen (Rochelle) Wilson of Olds, Alberta, 8 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Don was predeceased by his parents William and Phyllis, brother-in-law John MacAulay and son-in-law Ross Poynter.
A celebration of Don’s life will be held on Wednesday January 25, 2023, at the Olds Royal Canadian Legion 185 at 1:00pm.
In Lieu of flowers a donation can be made to a charity of one’s choice.
