Bob passed away peacefully at his home, in Sundre, AB, surrounded by his family on Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at 87 years of age.
Bob was born in Davidson, SK on October 23, 1934 to Roy and Georgina Worrall. Bob married Grace Worrall (nee Hamel) December 27, 1961. Robert, or as most people knew him as “Bob” or “Smiley” worked in the seismic industry in his early years. Shortly after he started with Parkland Oilfield Services, he got hired on with Canadian Superior which was bought out by Mobil. Bob’s career in the oilfield was very rewarding and after 35 years he retired. But shortly after retirement, he was hired back with Parkland Oilfield Services to work with Mobil until he finally retired for good.
He also enjoyed farming and tending the operation at Westward Ho, Sundre, AB for June Stavley family from Calgary. He enjoyed many hobbies and activities. You could find him most afternoons having coffee with “the boys” at the Old Hotel. He enjoyed curling and watching hockey. He also volunteered at the Sundre Museum and the Sundre Thrift Store. But his biggest passion in the past 35 plus years has volunteering at the museum at Pioneer Acres in Irricanna, AB. There he met many close and dear friends that he cherished right up until his passing. He devoted his time to restoring tractors, did tours with school kids and just putter around and tinkered. Bob also loved going to auction sales no matter the weather.
Bob will be lovingly remembered by his wife Grace of 60 years; children Keith, Lorne (Corinne), Tracy (Darren) and Michelle (Paul); grandchildren Amanda (Chad), Jessica, Lindsay (Stephen) Amy McDonald (Jordie) Curtis (Mikki), Brooke and Sarah; great grandchildren Colby, Danika, Penelope, Allister and Ivor and his brother Allan (Donna) Ted and Susan.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 16, 2022 at Our Lady Of Fatima Catholic Church, Sundre, lunch to follow at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #223, Sundre.
