This year's annual Stuff The Bus fundraiser and toy collection for the Olds and District Christmas Angels Society (ODCAS) was a great success, president Cindy Tookey says.

On Dec. 15 individuals and organizations delivered money and gift cards and filled a vehicle parked in the Canadian Tire parking lot with toys and gifts, all for needy families.

"We received $1,000 in cash, we got $1,000 in gift cards. We got about $4,200 value of toys," Tookey said  during an interview with the Albertan.

Tookey said that's up "a little bit" from last year, but she was unable to specify how much.

"It was very successful. The weather helped too, right? It was nice out. It wasn't cold. The last couple of years we've done it it was a little bit chilly. That makes a difference too," she said.

The ODCAS has received requests for 25 more hampers than last year. Last year, the Angels delivered 193 hampers to 622 people, of whom 301 were children.
