BOWDEN - A male suspect from Bowden wanted in connection with a bullet lodged in an apartment building in the town has been “picked up,” according to Olds RCMP.
The bullet “went through a house and then (was) found inside an apartment building,” Olds RCMP Cpl. Michael Black says.
James Colwell, 26, of Bowden was wanted in connection with the incident. A warrant was issued for his arrest.
Colwell faces charges of careless use of a firearm, unsafe storage of a firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm, and mischief under $5,000.
The mischief under $5,000 charge is in regard to damage inflicted on the apartment building by the bullet.
A co-accused, Katelynn Clark, 23, also of Bowden, was arrested and has since been released, pending an appearance in court in Didsbury on Dec. 19.
Clark is charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm and failing to comply with an undertaking.
Failing to comply with an undertaking is basically not following the rules of a release from custody.
The incident occurred on about Nov. 21. Police were not notified until Nov. 23 when they received a complaint about a bullet found in an apartment.
No injuries were reported.
