OLDS — The CLC Fitness Centre has begun offering one-on-one personal training only, as per the new provincial government pandemic guidelines.
As of Feb. 8, the Alberta government relaxed its pandemic restrictions, allowing indoor personal fitness facilities to re-open, with one-on-one and by appointment only.
That will limit the number of people who can attend. There are five personal trainers at the facility.
However, Blayne Meek, director, corporate communications and marketing, notes those who are unable to attend the fitness centre in person can still register for online classes.
Those wishing to register for one-on-one sessions can do so by going on the CLC Fitness Centre’s website.
“Every time there is an ease of restrictions we see a high demand in clientele eager to get back in the gym. However with the Step 1 restrictions in place, it will be limited to individual and household training only,” Meek wrote in an email.
“We will operate under these guidelines, as we understand the importance of both mental and physical health and want to ensure we are supporting our clientele and providing as many opportunities for health and fitness as possible.”
There are other ways to get fit too.
Meek notes that during the pandemic, the CLC Fitness Centre has seen a surge in demand for outdoor equipment rentals and programming available via the CLC.
“We have seen a significant demand for rental of equipment such as snow shoes, cross-country skis the last three weeks,” she wrote.
