OLDS — Coffee With Councillors is back again.

That initiative, in which Town of Olds councillors make themselves available to meet in person with residents to hear their concerns and ideas, was first held last summer.

Councillors thought it went well, so they’re holding those sessions again, starting May 23.

Scheduled sessions include:

Thursday May 23:

• 8 a.m. – 10 a.m. at Bean Brokers; 5014 46 Ave.

• 1 – 3 p.m. at the Olds Municipal Library; 5217 52 St.

• 7 - 9 p.m. - Olds Royal Canadian Legion #105; 5241 46 St.

Friday June 28:

• 9 a.m. - 8 p.m. – during the Spitfires Summer Classic baseball tournament: Rotary Athletic Park; 70 Ave North of Walmart. Council will have a tent set up.

These two events are open to all members of the community, and diverse participation is encouraged.

“Citizen feedback plays an important role in decision making and shaping local governance,” a town news release on the matter says.

“This is a valuable time for citizens to ask questions and provide feedback on the Town’s budget spending. Your voice is important and shapes council’s understanding of the needs and wants of the community. We want to hear from you.”
