A property owner in the county came home to find two dead calves in a snowbank at his home -- apparently as a result of a friend plowing the driveway for him.

Olds RCMP received the call earlier this month. An officer went out to investigate the matter.

"You never know sometimes, it might be a retribution thing or something like that," Staff Sgt. Jim MacDonald says. "There was no indication of how the calves had died. They were both frozen and sort of buried in the snow."

It turns out there was a simpler explanation.

"He found out who owned the cows and that he'd plowed  the driveway a few days ago," MacDonald says. "He contacted the fellow and the fellow had put the dead calves -- they'd died earlier in the week -- put them in the front end of his loader and forgot about them when he went to plow the guy's driveway."
