The Rotary Club of Olds is putting on an East Coast Kitchen Party on Oct. 28 at the Olds College Alumni Centre.

The kitchen party is a new fall fundraiser for the club and will feature an East Coast-style seafood boil and live Celtic music with the Boys of St. James Gate.

Rotarian Trish Branter said the event will be a change from the harvest ball that the club has operated in the fall in years past.

"We decided it was time to get some new ideas and energy," said Branter. "In the past we have sold out quickly. This year by changing up the event, we hope to have more people."

The event will also feature a silent and live auction, and a live bar.

"It'll be an evening full of fun and great energy," she said. "It'll be a seafood boil that we'll be serving."

All proceeds from the kitchen party will go to the Rotary Club's many projects in the community. Over the past five years, the Rotary Club of Olds has invested more than $350,000 back into Olds and the surrounding area.
