OLDS — This is no bull.
A bull escaped from the Pioneer Vet Clinic Wednesday evening.
Olds RCMP got the call to help capture it at about 5:45 p.m.
The animal was eventually “corralled” near Home Hardware, according to an RCMP news release.
This incident didn’t end well for the bull.
“Due to the temperament of the bull, the owner and vet clinic made the decision to have the bull euthanized by the RCMP at the location,” Olds RCMP Cpl. Courtney Harding wrote in an email.
Harding says there are no plans to lay any charges as a a result of the incident.
“RCMP never wants to be in a position where they have to euthanize an animal,” she wrote.
“In some cases, it may be necessary if public safety is at risk and there is no other alternative. Having to euthanize an animal is definitely a last resort for us.”
A call to the Pioneer Vet Clinic for comment was not returned by press time.
