BOWDEN - Olds RCMP are asking for your help to solve a couple of business break-ins which not only resulted in the theft of a truck and computer equipment, but also a broken gas line.

Police were alerted to the theft by ATCO employees who were working on a gas line break.

"The suspect(s) entered the business compound and stole a silver Ford F-350. Attached to the stolen truck was a flat deck trailer. In attempts to steal the truck, the trailer struck the main gas line for the business, breaking it and causing a significant gas leak in town," a news release says. "There was no danger to the public from the gas leak."

During the investigation, police discovered another theft at a neighbouring business.

RCMP say it too suffered "significant damage" to the building and the fence. Computer equipment was stolen as well.

Police are continuing to investigate.

"Evidence collected from the scene is being examined by the RCMP forensic identification team," the release says.
