Olds RCMP received a report that on Dec. 17, a white 1997 Ford Econoline van was struck while it was parked in the 1500 block of Westview Drive in Bowden. Police believe that a late 1980s grey Chevrolet pickup with large wheels came around the corner and struck the van. Police believe the offending vehicle would have damage to the front passenger side. Members are seeking the public's assistance in possibly identifying the vehicle.
RCMP lay three DWI charges
During the months of November and December, Olds RCMP laid charges against three people for drunk driving. In a November 21 incident, a 51-year-old woman was stopped by police north of town on Rge. Rd. 14. She is facing charges of impaired driving and driving with a blood-alcohol level over .08.
In a second incident on Nov. 24, a 25-year-old man is facing the same charges when the vehicle he was driving was stopped within town limits. In a third incident, a 33-year-old woman is facing charges when the vehicle she was driving was stopped by police within town limits.
Graffiti sprayed on driveway
RCMP received a report that an unknown culprit or culprits spray-painted graffiti on a driveway in the Lakeridge area of Bowden sometime between 11 p.m. on Dec. 18 and 8:30 a.m. the following morning.
USB drive stolen from Eagle Hill Co-op
Sometime between 6 p.m. on Dec. 26 and 8 a.m. Dec. 27, a USB drive was stolen from the Eagle Hill Co-op. The drive was noticed missing when an employee of the Co-op arrived at work in the morning on Dec. 27 and noticed the loading platform had been lowered and the box in which delivery slips are kept had been smashed. A USB drive was also noted as missing. No fuel was taken in the heist. The matter is still under investigation.
