The Town of Olds has received an honourable mention for its "This Affects You" public engagement program from the provincial government.
That award was announced by Municipal Affairs Minister Shaye Anderson.
"This practice established a public engagement policy to ensure citizen engagement is a deliberate and prioritized process," the Municipal Affairs website says.
In addition, the town's efforts to engage the public were recognized internationally when a submission from Olds about its public engagement program was chosen from among 150 to be featured during an International Association of Public Participation conference in Denver a few weeks ago.
