OLDS – Over the past few weeks, some B.C. residents have expressed anger over Albertans coming into their province while the COVID-19 pandemic continues.

But Olds resident Lynn Roberts, who went to Fairmont last week to spend time in a time-share facility, said he didn't encountered any evidence of that anger there.

“Well at the resort here, just about every plate at every condo is an Albertan plate. I haven’t seen anything like that,” he said.

Colombia Valley RCMP told news media they had received two reports of verbal disputes between residents and visiting Albertans.

In one case, police were told that a man spat on a vehicle owned by an Alberta resident.

And on May 13, Columbia Shuswap Regional District chair Kevin Flynn asked people not to undertake unnecessary travel during the Victoria Day long weekend, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
