The former owner of the Olds Fas Gas station is charged with threatening the station's current owner. Police said a man identified as the station's previous owner entered the station on May 18 at about 8:52 p.m.

The former owner of the Olds Fas Gas station is charged with threatening the station's current owner. Police said a man identified as the station's previous owner entered the station on May 18 at about 8:52 p.m. and damaged a lottery terminal before placing a knife on the store's checkout counter. The attendant working at the time told police the man then threatened to kill him and vowed to return the next day to kill the station's current owner. Police said the suspect was intoxicated at the time. No one was injured during the altercation. Police arrested Ahsan Qadir Muhommad, 41, shortly afterwards and he is charged with two counts of uttering threats, possessing a dangerous weapon and three counts of breaching a recognizance. The breaches are in relation to an alleged domestic assault, police said. Muhommad was released on $1,000 cash bail and is next scheduled to appear in Didsbury court on June 9.An Olds RCMP member received scrapes and bruises after a 39-year-old man he was arresting attempted to flee. Cpl. Shawn Morgan spotted a vehicle with a stolen licence plate driving in alleys near the downtown core at about 1:30 a.m. on May 3. He pulled the vehicle over near the intersection of 52 Street and 50 Avenue and attempted to arrest the driver when the man began to struggle after Morgan tried to put handcuffs on the man's wrists.Morgan was able to restrain the suspect and complete the arrest. Richard Murray Logan of Olds was subsequently charged with possession of stolen property, resisting arrest, driving without insurance, driving without registration and driving without a licence.
