MOUNTAIN VIEW COUNTY - Longtime Mountain View Seniors' Housing (MVSH) chief administrative officer Sam Smalldon has announced his retirement effective in June.

“Sam has been CAO since 2010 and has contributed significantly to the growth and strength of the organization and has always placed the care and needs of the seniors in our communities as his top priority,” said board chair Heather Ryan.

“On behalf of the board, we thank Sam for his valuable efforts, dedication to the health and well-being of our residents and contributions to MVSH, and wish him well in his future endeavours.”

A housing management body under the Alberta Housing Act, MVSH operates seniors lodges in Olds, Didsbury, Sundre and Carstairs, as well as 12 manor sites, with a total of 440 residents.

Ryan said Smalldon will “remain available to both ensure a smooth transition and to act as a consultant on future projects” following his June retirement.

Recruiting for a new CAO will begin immediately, she said.
