Olds College (OC) has a new vice-president of development: Patrick Machacek.

As the college's senior representative responsible for fundraising and government relations, he will oversee the college's $40 million Beyond fundraising campaign.

He starts his new job on Nov. 6.

Machacek replaces former OC executive director of development Mark McLoughlin, who left the college to become the Saskatchewan government's deputy minister of advanced education.

According to an OC news release, Machacek has more than 23 years of experience in the fund development game and has lead successful fundraising campaigns at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT) and Norquest College.

Most recently, he served as vice-president responsible for major gifts at the University Hospital Foundation.

Machacek has a Master of Business Administration from Queen's University and Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Lethbridge.

"As Olds College continues to advance, the success of our $40 million capital campaign, Beyond, is key," Olds College president Stuart Cullum said.

"I believe that Patrick will do a great job leading this campaign to a successful finish that will see world-class facilities, programming and partnerships created for the benefit of our students."
