OLDS - Newly installed traffic lights at the intersection of 70th Avenue and Highway 27 in Olds should be fully operational soon.
Workers were wiring the lights last week. After all the installation work and programming was completed, the lights were put into flash mode, which is expected to last for about seven days.
They're expected to be fully operational in the new year.
Town council allocated $1.84 million for the project last spring, including installing lights and turning lanes.
Work on it began in July, but there were many delays due to supply chain issues regarding parts and materials.
The paving and concrete work was complete in November, but workers had to wait for the lights and cross arms to arrive in town. Work on installing them began on Dec. 21.
