New town councils in Olds and Bowden were sworn in yesterday.
Now they begin the task of governing both communities for the next four years.
That's not an easy task.
Each is faced with balancing revenues in a still hurting economy against demands for service, as well as concerns in both communities about rising crime rates and utility costs.
It will be quite the learning curve for new members of council in both towns. And the pressure starts now, as efforts to craft a new budget get underway.
All the best to both councils. Residents are counting on you to work in their best interest. That's an awesome responsibility.
