OLDS — For the first time in three years, the Eagle Beef and Multi 4-H Club has held a public achievement show and sale, much to the delight of members and organizers.
The two-day event was held at the Olds Regional Exhibition pavilion, with many buyers, supporters and visitors attending.
The horse and canine projects were shown on June 12, followed by the sheep, beef and small engine showings on June 13.
The club currently has 61 members, says beef leader Amanda Sande.
“It’s the first time in three years that we have had an achievement day open to the public,” said Sande. “For a lot of our kids, it was their first show ever because we are a young club. It was a great success.”
The club has seen a great increase in membership in recent times, she said.
“We used to be 12 members so we have seen tremendous growth and lots of interest in the club,” she said. “We have also had tremendous support from the community and the buyers. We are very thankful.”
