OLDS — Due to all of the recently received rain, the municipality has renewed its call for residents to reduce their discharge of grey water and make sure their sump pumps aren’t pumping water into the storm sewer system.
Town officials issued those requests late Thursday (June 23) afternoon.
The term ‘grey water’ refers to water from showers, tubs, washing machines, dishwashers and sinks.
Town officials had previously issued those same requests due to rainfall in mid- to late-June that lasted for several days.
Despite all of the recent rainfall, municipal officials said the community’s wastewater system is “currently maintaining its capacity.”
“All lift stations are in working order and the town is holding water infiltration at bay,” reads a portion of the release. “There is some trivial area storm water flooding; however, there are no sewer issues.”
