An Olds College student has won an online fashion competition that raises awareness and funds to battle breast cancer.

Kayley Champagne, 35, has been named the winner of Vote Couture for the Cure 2017.

As a result, Kruger Products, maker of Cashmere bathroom tissue, will donate $10,000 to the Canadian Cancer Society's fight against breast cancer in her name. Votes were cast throughout October, which is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The 14th annual White Cashmere Collection showcased 16 Canadian fashion design students and their original clothing designs as a way to celebrate Canada's 150th birthday. All were created utilizing bathroom tissue.

Before enrolling in Olds College, Champagne used to work in the oil and gas industry.
