OLDS — A three-day pop-up waste transfer station was “a great success,” says Adrian Pedro, the town’s infrastructure director.
He anticipates it will be held on a yearly basis.
The transfer station, located at the town’s operations centre in the western edge of Olds, was held Thursday, May 23 through Saturday, May 25.
It provided an opportunity for Olds residents to get rid of trash, tree branches and hazardous waste products in various locations and containers.
“We believe the program was a great success,” Pedro wrote in an email.
“There were approximately 180 town residents who signed up for the program, many of which who were able to dispose of both household and hazardous waste.”
