OLDS — Olds is under water restrictions Tuesday while the Mountain View Regional Water Services Commission makes planned repairs to a regional main line east of Olds.
The restrictions are expected to last about 24 hours.
Town of Olds officials began notifying residents last week that water will remain available on April 22, “but system pressure may be lower than usual.”
It also says tap water remains safe to drink.
However, some restrictions will be in place to preserve water supply. So during that time, the following uses are not permitted:
Residential restrictions:
• landscape watering: lawns, gardens, trees, shrubs
• filling swimming pools and spas
• filling fountains and other water features
• washing vehicles, homes, driveways, windows, patios, paths, boats, etc.
• use of water toys
• outdoor ice or snow making
Non-residential restrictions:
• lawn, green space, and sports field watering; and
• washing of driveways, paths, patios, windows, etc.
Town of Olds officials say water-reliant appliances such as dishwashers, washing machines and irrigation systems may experience lower pressure. It’s suggested that residents may want to postpone use of those devices during the restriction period if possible.
When the restrictions are lifted, the Town of Olds will notify residents via its website and social media.
Anyone experiencing any water issues is asked call the Town of Olds' on-call number 403-994-1376.
