OLDS — The First Baptist Church in Olds held its Pumpkin Patch Party on Oct. 31.
Organizers were pleased to be able to offer it with no COVID restrictions this time.
One of the organizers, Brenda Lytle, says an estimated 125 kids participated. That’s about half of the turnout pre-COVID, but she considers that to be a success, as people are starting to feel safe about mingling with others again.
Lytle says 13 games were set up in the church. Hot chocolate was also available.
“Our objective of all of the 13 games (was) for kids to have fun doing the games and the result is always candy (no losers in these games),” she wrote in an email.
“The objective was also for parents to know the church cares about the safety and welfare of their whole family.”
She said a major goal was to ensure kids have a safe place to enjoy play while building community and relationships.
“Thanks to our volunteers who made the evening fulfill the objective,” she wrote.
