OLDS - A delegation of nearly 45 businesspeople and politicians from Quebec toured Olds and surrounding area last week in the first of what organizers hope will be an annual get-together of the Quebec-Alberta business friendship group with a goal of growing the economy.

After the tour, they gathered for an evening southwest of Olds on the property of senior Alberta representative to Ottawa James Carpenter.

Area municipal, provincial and federal politicians were in attendance along with chamber of commerce representatives.

In an example of that bonhomie, Olds-Didsbury-Three Hills MLA and speaker of the Alberta legislature Nathan Cooper, Bernard Généreux, MP for a riding east of Quebec City, a friendly tap on the shoulder. He also offered for a prize a bottle of whisky specially made for the speaker of the Legislature.
