New Year's Eve and New Year's Day were very quiet in Olds, according to Olds RCMP.

Staff Sgt. Jim MacDonald says on New Year's Eve, Olds RCMP received only two "minor calls for service" between 5 p.m. and midnight.

They only received four calls for service between midnight and 5 p.m. on New Year's Day.

He says that's on par with other years recently.

"No charges were laid as a result of any of the investigations. However, one warrant was executed and the subject transported to the Calgary Remand Centre," MacDonald said in an email to the Albertan.

Although there were no serious incidents reported, officers kept busy with check stops and traffic stops.

"Approximately 50 vehicles were checked with all drivers determined to be safe and sober," MacDonald wrote. "Some local bars were quite busy, but patrons were largely well behaved."
