RCMP investigating after injured man found in ditch east of Bowden

OLDS - Police are investigating after a man determined to have life-threatening injuries was found in a ditch east of Bowden near Highway 587 this morning.

On March 27 at approximately 9:26 a.m., the Olds RCMP detachment responded to a complaint of a male found injured in a ditch along Range Road 28-5 near Highway 587 in Red Deer County, state police in an RCMP press release issued this evening.

When police arrived, they said a male with life-threatening injuries was located.

The male was transported to hospital by STARS air ambulance and remains in critical condition, stated police in the release.

The man's injuries were not disclosed and RCMP say an update will be provided once more information is known.

"The investigation is in the early stages and the Olds RCMP detachment and the RCMP Southern Alberta District General Investigation Section are actively involved. At this time, it is not believed that the public is at any risk," police said.
