Olds RCMP are asking for your help to find a couple of suspects involved in a rural break and enter and assault.

Police were called to the scene, a rural farm property near Highway 587 and Rge Rd. 265, at about 12:30 a.m. on July 2.

"The homeowner reported he heard noises coming from his garage and left his home to check on them," an RCMP news release says.

"He was then attacked by an unknown male coming from the doorway of his garage with a bladed weapon. This resulted in cuts to the homeowner's face and arm.

"The homeowner then put the unknown suspect into a hold to defend himself. He was kicked from behind by another male causing him to lose hold of the first male.

"Both suspects ran down the driveway with the homeowner chasing after them. Once they reached the road, a small car parked on Highway 587 struck the homeowner, resulting in him being thrown off of the hood of the vehicle.
"The suspects then got into the vehicle and were seen leaving the scene westbound on Highway 587."

The victim of the attack has been released from hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police are looking for two male suspects. One is 5-10 to six feet tall. He weighs about 175 pounds and has a slim build. He was wearing a hoodie at the time.

All that is known about the second suspect is that he is male.

Police believe a third person may have been involved too, serving as the getaway driver.

The vehicle is described as a small car, possibly with damage to the hood or windshield caused when it hit the victim.
