OLDS — Olds council has rezoned a chunk of land along 53rd Street that houses a small O-NET building and some big satellite dishes.
Council made that decision during its Nov. 12 meeting, changing that piece from recreational facility to central commercial.
The civic address of the land is 5226 53 St.
Municipal land use planner Kyle Sloan told council that the parcel in question was part of a larger rectangular piece owned by the Town that houses the Sportsplex and the library.
That chunk of land is bordered by 51st Avenue, 52nd Street and 53rd Street.
“The proposed rezoning to central commercial (C1) more accurately aligns with the current use of the site and allows for commercial and office use,” a town document on the matter said.
