Battle of Ontario going the way Proline bettors expected it would so far

The Battle of Ontario is going pretty much the way Proline bettors anticipated it would. The Toronto Maple Leafs hold a 2-0 lead in their best-of-seven playoff series with the Ottawa Senators.

The Battle of Ontario is going pretty much the way Proline bettors anticipated it would.

The Toronto Maple Leafs hold a 2-0 lead in their best-of-seven playoff series with the Ottawa Senators. After winning the opener 6-2 on Sunday, the Leafs captured a 3-2 overtime victory Tuesday night on Max Domi's goal in the extra session.

According to the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp., 82 per cent of bets were on Toronto winning the series opener. Eighty-five per cent of wagers correctly had the Leafs -1.5 goals while 75 per cent had the over 5.5 total goals.

On Tuesday night, 83 per cent of bettors took Toronto to win although 79 per cent had the Leafs -1.5 on the puck line.

And 89 per cent of bettors predicted over 5.5 goals.

The most popular player prop was Toronto captain Auston Matthews scoring, but he only managed an assist.

And only five per cent of players had the correct score of 3-2 but 62 per cent did predict overtime.

The third and fourth games of the series will be played in Ottawa on Thursday and Saturday, respectively.
