One man dead in shooting near Toronto's Little Italy neighbourhood

TORONTO — Police have identified a 24-year-old Toronto man as the victim of a fatal shooting in the city's Little Italy neighbourhood. Police were called to the Bloor Street West and Delaware Avenue area shortly before 11 p.m.

Police were called to the Bloor Street West and Delaware Avenue area shortly before 11 p.m. Friday for reports of gunfire.

When officers arrived, they found a man with multiple gunshot wounds.

Police say Munawar Warsama was pronounced dead at the scene.

Witnesses say the suspect or suspects took off in a dark-coloured sedan.

The Toronto Police Homicide Unit has taken control of the investigation.
