TORONTO — The Toronto Arrows have re-signed Canadian international scrum half Ross Braude for the 2023 Major League Rugby season.
The South African-born Braude, who qualifies to represent Canada through his Montreal-born father, returns to the Arrows for a third season after featuring in 21 matches, including 20 starts, since debuting in 2021.
"Ross has come in as a young player and really taken the reins at scrum half," Arrows COO and GM Mark Winokur said in a statement. "He has all the right qualities and will drive us towards our goal of success, we are confident of that."
The 22-year-old Braude is currently with Canada in Brazil for the Americas Rugby Trophy.
The five-foot-six 185-pounder has been a fixture for the Arrows since joining the team, with 540 carry metres on 70 carries, 91 tackles, 34 tackle breaks, six linebreaks and four tries for the club.
He has won 10 caps for Canada since making his international debut against Wales in July 2021. Braude previously represented South Africa's under-18 sevens team.
Braude came to the Arrows from the then-Super Rugby Bulls side, helping the Pretoria-based team to under-19 and under-21 championships in 2019 and 2020, respectively.
