A heartfelt thank you Olds!
You are a terrific community to call home.
Who knew there are so many caring, willing, generous and community-minded individuals, businesses and groups?!
Olds College brought me to the community and after three years of school, I decided to stay.
To gain more connections, I got involved.
Thanks Olds Fire Department, Community Kitchen and Communities in Bloom.
(Check out Volunteer Olds for more ideas, as there are lots of opportunities!)
Taking classes for parenting and self-improvement through Olds Neighbourhood Place, Mountain View Community Adult Learning Society and Olds Hospital and Care Centre helped me gain more skills/tools for my well-being and increased community connections.
Starting a family opened a lot of new doors: prenatal classes, school, gymnastics, swimming, music, sports and skating.
A lot of these involvements are run by dedicated individuals committed to children, family and community.
Support is given to a variety of groups, in many different ways.
All of this increases opportunity for Olds citizens, both young and experienced.
Thank you, to all individuals, businesses and groups who have given time, donations and money to help all our citizens, youth, clubs, groups and societies.
Many groups have knocked on your door and you have been there.
I appreciate you!
My question to youÖ What is your perspective; is your glass half full or half empty?
If you feel the need to complain, why not get out and do something about it?!
Olds opportunities abound!
It just might be your new perspective that is needed!
Give it a whirl.
There is an adage ìWithout unity we have no community,î and I am saying ìThank youî and smiling because this is an awesome community!
Wishing the co-citizens, businesses and groups of Olds a Merry Christmas and all the best in 2014!
