I have heard with interest the possibility that Dodd's Lake might be stocked with fish. As a fly fisherman I found that to be a very interesting concept.
Many folks may not know that this is a very shallow lake and freezes right to the bottom every winter.
I suggest that if we are going to stock this lake it might be appropriate to put in an aerator and dredge the lake to a deeper depth of 30 feet in order to stop the winterkill. The addition of the fish would lessen the incidence of blood suckers and leeches in the lake as well. Weed growth would also be reduced.
The concept of a multi-use recreational body of water inside the town limits is very attractive. I hope that the council of the day has the foresight to see all of the possibilities that may be available. It is nice to see a council living up to its mandate and working to improve the quality of life in our little town.
