I have been a member of the Sundre community for over 15 years. I first ran for council in 2001, and sat as a councillor until 2009, when I became acting mayor. The 2010 election acclaimed me as mayor for the term. During my tender as acting mayor and as

mayor, I have succeeded in securing funding for the spurs that help protect our community from flooding. I have been on the Mountain View Seniors Housing board, working to have a new seniors living campus built in Sundre. I am honoured to be a part of the council! Working hard for our great community.

I am seeking re-election to continue the process to further grow our community toward prosperity. I am working closely with the

provincial government to implement long term solutions to flooding along the Red Deer River, solving the pedestrian dangers

along Highway 27, and ensuring we receive the new hospital as identified in 2007.

I am seeking the support to continue to be the voice, the advocate, the lobbyist for our community, we have many concerns and

need the continuity in leadership to achieve these important initiatives. I have set the foundation for achieving our goals, earned the respect at the provincial and federal levels of government. Been at the table and being part of the conversations and process for

solutions.

Issues that are most vital to me include:

Fiscal responsibility. With so many changes and removal of provincial grants and funding. Maintaining services to our community and need the need for capital replacement/upgrades and requests for new capital expenditures. The financial impact to tax payers has to be minimized, thus council must explore all avenues to achieve these expenditures including prioritizing needs of our community, planning for these projects and then ensuring the need through the community before moving forward.
