I don't think they (anti-vaxxers) are willfully ignoring the science. I think they fall into two categories — either they have been duped by shysters or they are shysters.
The vast majority of anti-vaxxers have been duped by shysters like (disgraced doctor Andrew) Wakefield. They believe his lies. They don't trust science.
They think all the pro-vax science is bought off by “Big Pharma” or the Illuminati or some such.
We can cite all the evidence we want to refute their claims but most of them are too deeply entrenched in the echo chamber to see reason.
However, I have hope that we will catch some fence-sitters and help them see that the rational thing to do is vaccinate.
