Regarding the story on pet chickens in the May 22 issue of the Innisfail Province, what is the big deal with having chickens in your backyard?
They are not noisy. You don't take them for walks and let them poop on someone's lawn, or take them to the playground and poop there and fail to do a pickup. They do not bark all day long or jump out of their yard and attack anyone.
They are, however, quiet, social, lovable, and produce eggs, eat garden pests, and don't attack strangers, unlike canines that people insist on having in the backyard.
