Day of 'reckoning'

With general reference to the contents of the Dec. 6 Innisfail Province, Helen Dietz appears entirely focused on the morale of her chosen subordinates in the town office.

With general reference to the contents of the Dec. 6 Innisfail Province, Helen Dietz appears entirely focused on the morale of her chosen subordinates in the town office. She would be well advised to remember that she is an employee of the taxpayers, and for her own well-being the best interests of her masters should be her top priority.

Congratulations to Johnnie Bachusky on his editorial, which diplomatically puts councillors in their place. The mayor and council should remember that they were elected by the taxpayers to ensure that the best interests of the taxpayers as a whole are paramount in the day-to-day operation and future development of Innisfail.

Maybe their memories are getting fuzzy in this regard but a day of reckoning is approaching.

Mary Flemming and Jim Carroll are to be congratulated on their presentation (unfortunately it did not address all of our concerns), and thanked for their work and initiative.

May I suggest that consideration be given to include the mayor and councillors in the request to the Alberta Ministry of Municipal Affairs.
