The people who live in this town need to cheer on the Grizzlys. Judging the boys over the past will not help save this team. The town is the seventh man. If this town does not find its passion then the boys are sunk still.
The arena is too quiet. The fan base is deaf to the hint of greatness in these young men. This fan base needs to shake the cobwebs off and reignite the hockey heart that propelled the Grizzlys of the past to greatness.
What happened yesterday cannot be changed, how we cheer on and foster hockey dreams today, that is what we have control of.
I told former head coach and current special adviser to hockey operations Dana Lattery I would allow the boys to tag my brand new truck if the boys took Canmore. They did, he did not take me up on it. I guess tagging a brand new truck is worth more than the first round of playoffs.
I could not offer a bucket of money to save the team; I cannot offer a solution to the dead hockey heart of the town of Olds. But I can warn you to not ever underestimate the hockey hearts that propelled those boys to our team. They deserve a passionate, alive fan base.
I'm just one person; you may want me to lose my bear bells, or shut my loud mouth, but for all their hard work to get here, the Grizzlys deserve one crazy fan. The arena is too quiet.
