The fire chief, who was very popular and well liked by his crew and volunteers, has gone.
Innisfail has a very efficient fire department, a lot of them volunteers like any emergency service.
We are fortunate to have such dedicated men and women who are there for our safety and protection.
Now we have a new fire chief. Let's all show our support.
We elected our mayor and council to keep our town strong and progressive in the right direction. These elected officials are there for all of us.
We all know anyone in a position of authority or power receives a whole heap of criticism. Constructive criticism is great.
Now let's give credit to our CAO Helen Dietz. She was hired by council to do certain work.
We should write some complimentary letters about these people.
Our council are mostly longtime residents of Innisfail. They know our town, the people, our problems and assets.
We are lucky to have freedom of speech. Just keep phoning the town councillors and mayor (they do listen). Keep protesting peacefully, and most of all keep writing letters to the editor.
These are the ways to get the community thinking, and remember to vote this fall. You have a choice.
