First of all I get what the cartoonist was getting at but at the same time I think they totally missed the mark.
Peanuts has always been part of my life, shared DNA on my dad's side, and I'm not so sure if Mr. Schultz would appreciate his beloved characters being used this way.
As someone who doesn't consider herself as being "religious" I can certainly respect and understand what Linus says in the show, Charlie Brown Christmas and feel the cartoonist needs to watch and reacquaint themselves with not only Linus's moment but the show altogether and grasp its true meaning.
Just start caring for each other. What a message that is and wouldn't it be wonderful if we all did.
