Re: Red Deer-Mountain View MP defends blockades

Kudos to Member of Parliament Earl Dreeshen for standing up for the peaceful protesters in Canada.  While many Canadians seem to be embracing the dictatorial, authoritarian tactics of our Liberal/NDP government, Members of the European Parliament (MEP), some of whom have once lived in countries with dictatorial regimes, can see clearly what is happening in Canada.

Trudeau went to Brussels recently to discuss, with other allies, the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Many members refused to attend and listen to Trudeau's speech portion and several did not hold-back their criticism of Trudeau to his face.

Cristian Terhes, the Romanian MEP who refused to attend Trudeau's speech, instead published a statement reading in part, “You can't come and teach democracy lessons to Putin from the European Parliament when you trample with horse hooves your own citizens who are demanding that their fundamental rights be respected.”

In Trudeau's presence, German MEP Christine Anderson said in part, “...(Trudeau) tramples on fundamental rights by persecuting and criminalizing his own citizens as terrorists just because they dared to stand up to his perverted concept of democracy . . . You are a disgrace for any democracy.  Please spare us your presence.”

And lastly, Croatian MEP Mislav Kolakusic, at one point turning to look directly at Trudeau, said, “We watched how you trample women with horses, how you block the bank accounts of single parents...For many citizens of the world it is a dictatorship of the worst kind.”

How this disgrace of a prime minister is still in office is beyond me. And now we have the Liberal/NDP coalition that could keep the Trudeau government propped up until potentially 2025.

Canada does not have the respect of the world it once had and I hope over time we can get that respect back.
