Re: Commentary: Cooperation needed on environmental protection
I'm not in agreement with some of the premier's approach to climate issues however I think Rebecca Schultz hits it right on that we need common sense.
Practical solutions and innovative approaches to deal with the emissions problems.
Furthermore we need to be a bit more skeptical about what climate changes really have in store for our future.
In Northern Europe in the 13th century, it was apparently warmer than it is today. Forty years later there was a mini ice age. What's to say that’s not in our future as well.
In addition, are the emissions really responsible for the cause of current warming trends?
Steven Koonin does an excellent review of it in his book Unsettled. I'd highly recommend reading it.
Also it seems that the media and some academics are trying to capitalize on the potential catastrophes of climate warming Patrick Moore takes a good look at that, in his book Fake Invisible Catastrophes. Also a recommended read.
We need to be better informed and look deeper before we leap for the climate warming lifeboat that the federal minister Guilibeault is trying to launch.
