Life on the line

I am very upset to hear five volunteer firefighters resigned due to safety issues. Apparently they went to town council to complain about these issues and were told there were no issues. In other words, the town dismissed their concerns.

Our firefighters are needed. They put their lives on the line to save us from harm. So when five members quit, there is something seriously wrong. I commend the five members for speaking up and dealing with the bullying and uncaring people who don't seem to care about safety.

I would like to see if the town's council and mayor have the same dismissive attitude should a fire or emergency happen in their backyard!

We need every volunteer firefighter, so when we lose five that makes it quite concerning for not only their safety, it affects every person.

It's time to fix the problem, not dismiss it. So I ask every person living in Didsbury to support the five members and demand council listen and do something about any and all issues brought before council.

To the five members: you can hold your heads up high knowing you did the right thing.

Let's hope these safety issues are addressed and fixed.
