Message from the Legion President

Remembrance Day is a day of many emotions. It is a day of sadness, a day of pride and a day of hope.

Remembrance Day is a day of many emotions.

It is a day of sadness, a day of pride and a day of hope. For some, Remembrance Day comes with the pain felt due to the loss of a loved one, a friend, a comrade, because of a sacrifice made in the name of freedom.

For a brief period every year we are given the opportunity to remember and show appreciation to those who paid the ultimate sacrifice and those who are willing to.

The poppy is a silent symbol of remembrance that speaks volumes. It makes us mindful of the men and women who paid for our freedom with their lives, those who carry the burdens of their service every day, and their families.

As Canadian citizens we continue to acknowledge the courage of the men and women who have served and defended our values. We take pride in the service and sacrifice of those who have served their nation and the world.

We are truly humbled by all our veterans and the sacrifices they so fearlessly made.

Lest we forget.

Ed Rieberger, president of

Innisfail Branch 104, Royal Canadian Legion
